Shear Wall Analysis Module

Analyze buildings lateraly supported by shear walls

Module Description

Analyze a building which is laterally supported by shear walls for the shears and moments in each of the shear walls.

Loads due to wind and seismic conditions can be input in two perpendicular directions.

Lateral loads are distributed based on the combined flexural and shear stiffness of the individual wall elements. Displacements are outputted for the four corners of the building at each floor level.

Technical Specifications

Built for complex, multi‑story shear wall systems, delivering drift and force distribution with speed and clarity.

Analyzes buildings up to 42 levels with virtually any wall arrangement — all from just five input commands.

Treats wall segments as true line elements, eliminating false stiffness in the thickness direction for more accurate behavior.

Supports up to 28 segments per wall element, giving engineers full flexibility for irregular or highly articulated layouts.

Generates clean, portable Word‑compatible RTF reports, ideal for submittals and long‑term documentation.

Offers US or metric units, user‑defined defaults, and a simple one‑file project structure for fast, repeatable workflows.

Dynamic graphic background draws the plan view and wall elements as you input them.

Sold as a stand‑alone tool — no need to buy a full structural suite just to analyze shear walls
