Flat Slab Analysis & Design Module

Analyze and design flat slab or waffle slab floors

Module Description

Analyze and design flat slab or waffle slab floors.

Flat slabs may have drop panels at columns and columns may have capitals. Analyses are for a one-bay-wide strip using the equivalent frame analysis method of the ACI code. The strip may have up to 20 spans and may have cantilevers at the ends.

Technical Specifications

  • Transforms the complexity of beamless concrete floors into a fast, intuitive workflow — just enter geometry and loads, and the engine handles the rest.
  • Built on the ACI‑approved Equivalent Frame Method, delivering reliable designs for flat slabs and waffle slabs without manual frame modeling.
  • Supports up to 20 spans plus cantilevers, giving engineers flexibility for real‑world floor layouts.
  • Handles drop panels, column capitals, punching shear, and eccentric shear with code‑aligned accuracy.
  • Designs top and bottom reinforcement for both column strips and middle strips, including bar sizes, quantities, and lengths.
  • Automatically computes steel volume, concrete volume, weight per square foot, and surface area, helping teams estimate materials quickly.
  • Accepts area loads and partial‑span loads, including line loads perpendicular to the design strip.
  • Produces clean, professional RTF reports compatible with Word.
  • Offers US/metric units, user‑defined defaults, and a simple one‑file project structure.
  • Graphic input backgrounds keep the interface visual and intuitive.
